On her appointment, in January 2016, as the GBA Chair Sue said:
"I've seen at first hand the fantastic contributions of coaches, teachers and volunteers at sports clubs across Berkshire – as a participant myself, but also as an employer and the mother of three sporty daughters. Sport has the potential to transform lives and bring communities together locally. Its impact can be far more powerful than the physical health benefits of being more active, in fact the Government's recent strategy for sport highlights five key outcomes for sports provision including physical health, mental health, individual development, social and community development and economic development. I feel incredibly proud to have been appointed to this role and look forward to playing my part in working with the many organisations that develop and deliver sport and physical activity across this diverse county."
