Celebration at the GBA Awards!
Over 320 sport enthused guests came to celebrate Berkshire's sporting and activity achievements at the Hilton Hotel Reading on the evening of Feb 23rd 2018. Recognising many of the counties unsung sporting and activity heroes, the Winter Olympics themed night was filled with anticipation and much applause.
The ceremony was hosted by Sport Presenter Tim Dellor, with Olympic Skeet Shooter Amber Hill giving an inspirational speech about her amazing achievements and highlighting the positive impact sport and activity can play for people of all ages and backgrounds! Local elite athletes, award sponsors, award shortlists, VIP guests, local clubs, teams and organisations were all in attendance from across the county, all part of making this event a huge success. A big thank you to everyone who attended the night, our VIP's and sponsors for supporting the event, and the GBA team who made this inspiring evening happen.
We hope to see you all again next year!

Crime Prevention Project
Success in Slough!
Get Berkshire Active are working with Thames Valley Police to provide meaningful and engaging physical activity for those aged 11-18 living in Britwell, Slough to help with their crime prevention project.
Over February half-term we had many activities on offer. The first day included inflatables such as penalty shoot-out and a bungee run and the second day included specialist coaching from Reading FC, Sweet Science and Berkshire Community Cricket. Over 80 young people attended across the two days, giving us plenty of opportunity to gather insight from young people about what they want to see in the area.
We are now providing weekly sports and physical activity sessions for young people and hope that the project will continue to grow in numbers!
